Blythe feature in VOGUE NIPPON startsStarting from the March 2002 issue, Blythe appeared every month for 12 months in the most highly esteemed fashion magazine in Japan, VOGUE NIPPON. Every month, world-renowned fashion designers designed an outfit especially for Blythe, which was then photographed by Gina Garan. These dolls were put up on auction every 3 months, and all proceeds were donated to UNICEF.

"Blythe Display" Exhibition in Hong Kong4/8/2002-4/21/2002"Blythe Display" was a public Blythe fashion design contest for the Blythe fans in Hong Kong. Winning designs were displayed in the I.T. Store in Hong Kong's Causeway bay, alongside Gina Garan's photographs.

Blythe 1st Anniversary Event "Big Eyed and Beautiful"June - August 2002In addition to a fashion show in which 14 fashion brands participated, Blythe's first birthday event took place in various venues in the form of different exhibitions - from Aoyama Spiral (6/4-11) to Daikanyama's not yet (6/4-15), CWC, the Gallery (6/11-29), and IMS in Fukuoka (7/20-8/7). The exhibition featured Gina Garan's photographs, a vintage Blythe doll private collection, and the dolls that were styled by the participating fashion brands. All 35 dolls at the fashion show were put up on auction, and all proceeds were donated to Make-a-Wish-of-Japan.

"My Blythe a Photo Contest" Exhibition12/2/2002-12/20/2002The winning works of the first Blythe Photo Contest were exhibited at CWC, the Gallery in Tokyo, Japan. Eighty photographs were chosen from a highly competitive group of entries by Vogue Nippon's fashion editor Ako Tanaka, one of Japan's most popular comic artists Ai Yazawa, and of course photographer Gina Garan and Blythe creative producer Junko Wong (CWC). The public voted for their favorite, too.
